Volunteers are Our Heros
The museum relies on the help of its volunteers to give our visitors a wonderful experience while at the museum. Volunteer opportunities include working both with visitors and helping behind the scenes. We have many different volunteer positions for all different interests and talents.
Volunteers are needed to staff the gift shops and admissions desks, greet visitors, assist with mailings, set up programs, and assist with a variety of other projects.
Remember, when Tom got the boys to whitewash for him, he discovered a great principle: “Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do. Play consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do.” You’re not obliged to come to lend a hand, but we hope you do!
All of the opportunities help improve the quality of our museum. We would love to have you be a part of the museum’s vibrant volunteer program! Download an online volunteer application, call us at 573-221-9010 for more information or just visit us in Hannibal, MO.
“What work I have done I have done because it has been play. If it had been work I shouldn’t have done it."
