Embroidered Missouri Ornament

“I am a border ruffian from the State of Missouri. I am a Connecticut Yankee by adoption. In me, you have Missouri morals, Connecticut culture; this, gentlemen, is the combination which makes the perfect man.” – Mark Twain

These beautifully hand-embroidered ornaments were designed for the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum. They are shaped like Mark Twain’s home state of Missouri and feature hawthorn blossoms, the state flower. Gold braid is used to hang the ornament and adds detail around the edge. The ornaments are made of felt, beads, and sequins and are lightly plush. They are very lightweight so they won’t drag down your Christmas tree branches. These ornaments are also fair-trade certified and made by talented Indian artisans.

The mission of The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum Foundation is to promote awareness and appreciation of the life and works of Mark Twain and to demonstrate the relevance of his stories and ideas to citizens of the world. We are always looking for support for our mission. The Mark Twain Home Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Every ticket sold and every item purchased from our gift shops supports this mission and keeps our museum open for generations to come. Thank you so much for shopping small and helping us continue sharing Mark Twain’s legacy!
