The Mark Twain Home Foundation Announces New Executive Director

The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum is pleased to announce Mr. James Lundgren as the new CEO/Executive Director of the museum. Lundgren is coming from the Steele County Historical Society in Owatonna, Minnesota where he served as Executive Director for the Society. He was responsible for overseeing operations that include 19 historical structures and a History Center.

Lundgren also held positions as Director of Operations for the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo Ohio and the Executive Director of the History Center of Olmsted County, Rochester, Minnesota.

He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he double majored in American History and American Indian Studies and following that, he earned his master’s degree in Non-Profit Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Lundgren has a special interest in early American history and the War of 1812. He has been an active participant in historical reenactments.

The Mark Twain Home Foundation is excited to welcome James to the Museum. He will assume full-time duties as the executive director of the museum on January 2, 2020.
