Biographies:

Dr. Regina Faden, Executive Director
Regina Faden received her Bachelors degree from Tufts University in English and German and earned a Masters in American Studies from Boston College. She received her Ph.D. in American Studies from Saint Louis University and then a Masters in History with a certificate in Museum Studies from University of Missouri-St. Louis. While in graduate school, Faden worked at the Samuel Cupples Historic House Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art at Saint Louis University before joining the Missouri Botanical Garden as a Corporate and Foundations fundraising officer. Faden joined the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum as Executive Director in 2004. For the past ten years Faden has taught American Literature and History at various colleges and universities, including Saint Louis University and Fontbonne University. During the 2008 adademic year, she will be teaching American history at Hannibal-LaGrange College, Women's History at Culver-Stockton College, and Drama at Quincy University.

Henry Sweets, Curator
Henry Sweets received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1971 and a Masters in Education in 1973. He then taught high school science for two years in Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in New Jersey, and two years at Byron High School in Illinois. He next earned a Master of Arts degree in American History and Museum Studies from the University of Delaware in 1978. Sweets came to the Mark Twain Museum in January, 1978, as director, and has been with the museum since 1978. He has edited the museum publication The Fence Painter for 27 years, led workshops and made many presentations on behalf of the museum. Sweets has also served on the local Board of Education since 1992 and serves as president.

Dr. Cindy Lovell, Education Coordinator
Cindy Lovell received a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Masters degrees in Education from Stetson University. She taught elementary school in Florida before earning her Ph.D. in Education at the University of Iowa where she worked at the Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development. Lovell founded the HATS (High Achieving Talented Students) Program at Stetson University and continues to serve on the HATS advisory board. In 2007 she accepted the position of associate professor at Quincy University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in education and a First Year Experience course on Mark Twain. Her areas of expertise include Mark Twain, curriculum development, writers workshops, gifted education, and teaching English as a new language. She has published two children's novels, Rachel Mason Hears the Sound and Not This Sunday and serves as an editor for the Mensa Research Journal and as a reviewer for Florida Reading Quarterly. Lovell also serves as a board member for the Mark Twain Home Foundation. (CV)
